I thought that writing a blog would be a great way to document my adventures abroad and share them with friends and family. I'll be in Rome until May 1, and I hope to travel throughout Italy, and visit France, Spain, Greece, and Ireland. My goal is to take advantage of every moment I have here to learn and have fun...when in Rome!

Getting Ready for Rome

With less than a week to go, my trip to Rome is fast approaching! It's hard to believe that on January 6, I will be boarding a plane to Italy and returning four months later! I've only been out of the country once, for a family vacation to the Bahamas. Although the thought of living abroad for four months is nerve-wracking, it's incredibly exciting. Since I was little, it has been a dream of mine to go to Italy, and it's so exciting that this semester I will not just visit Italy, I will be calling it home for the semester. As a Roman Catholic and an Italian-American, visiting Rome has always been on my bucket list, and I am thrilled to be able to immerse myself in the city's vibrant culture. I can't wait to experience the language, landmarks, traditions, and cuisine of Rome and the entire country of Italy. Besides exploring my heritage, I hope that this experience will help me to be me more independent and gain new perspectives on life. Experiencing different cultures and outlooks on life will be valuable for my future in a communications job. And at the very least, this trip will teach me how to pack light! Only 6 days and 30 minutes until my flight to Rome!
